Forest Carbon Program Model

The Wild Thyme Forest Carbon Offset Program was developed for certification of 100 acres of forest carbon sequestration. Wild Thyme is one of three small landowner projects to participate in the Northwest Natural Resources Group (NNRG) pilot program.

This model follows the widely regarded Voluntary Carbon Standard (VCS) and the model developed by the Pacific Forest Trust, Carbon Offset Program and the California Air Resources Board (CARB).

Beginning in May 2009 NNRG will market these first carbon offsets to US businesses that wish to voluntarily offset their carbon emissions by purchasing high quality carbon credits.
